Russian and East European Languages, Literature, and Culture

The Hesburgh Libraries provide print and online collections that support Russian and East European Studies. Special collections, which are housed in the Department of Rare Books & Special Collections, include rare books and manuscripts pertaining to the political and cultural life of the Soviet Union.

The librarian for Russian and East European languages, literature, and culture, Natasha Lyandres, provides one-on-one, small-group, and whole-class consultations and instruction. Her areas of expertise include finding and evaluating sources and working with primary source materials.

Notre Dame ID card access is available from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. through the north, east, or west entrances. Access is not available after closing on Friday and Saturday nights. The library reopens at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
