Group Study Rooms Reservation Policy
This policy covers reservable group study rooms, breakout rooms, videoconference rooms, multimedia rooms, and consultation rooms.
Group study rooms in the Hesburgh Library — located on the Lower Level, 1st Floor, and 2nd Floor — are reservable and designed to facilitate collaborative work. Use of group student spaces is governed by the following policies:
- Reservations are available in 30-minute increments.
- Reservations may last up to 4 hours per reservation, and up to 8 hours per week.
- Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks in advance. The system will not allow reservations beyond this time frame.
- You can only reserve one room at a time.
- Two or more users (depending on room capacity) are required to be present to reserve a group study space.
- When not reserved, group study rooms (excluding multimedia rooms) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The digital sign outside of each group study room displays current reservations.
- If someone else is occupying a group study room without a reservation, they must vacate the room immediately when the next reservation holder arrives. Politely inform the occupants of a room that you have reserved the space.
- You may be asked to leave the space when someone else's reservation begins. Be respectful of the reservation.
- You are responsible for the security of your items. Do not leave your belongings unattended.
- Check your email reservation confirmation for additional instructions specific to the reserved space.
Repeated violation of these rules may result in temporary loss of access to reservation privileges.
If you have general questions or concerns about your reservation or need to cancel your reservation, please email hl-libcal-list@nd.edu. If you have trouble accessing your reserved room, call the Security Monitors at (574) 631-6350.
