Library Research Instruction

What is Library Research Instruction?

Library faculty and subject area experts collaborate with course instructors in every discipline at Notre Dame to develop customized sessions that address the immediate and rapidly changing research needs of students. These learning sessions are designed to integrate your course goals with the Libraries’ information literacy goals. Ultimately, students identify information resources and develop research strategies for successfully completing assignments, papers, and projects.

Request an Instruction Session in the Libraries

Submit a request at least 2 weeks prior to your preferred session date. We will contact you to verify dates and times of the session(s) and to connect you with a librarian. That librarian will then schedule a pre-session meeting to discuss the assignment and goals for the session. We make every effort to accommodate your preferred dates, based on resource availability.
