Philosophy of Science (Q 175) and Political Philosophy (JA 71) materials can be accessed on the Lower Level. Important non-circulating reference works in the field such as dictionaries and encyclopedias are in the Hesburgh Library's 1st Floor reference collection.

The librarian for philosophy, Alan Krieger, provides research consultations to students and faculty in one-on-one, small group, or classroom settings. His expertise includes helping to define a research topic, finding and evaluating sources, and acquiring needed resources for specific projects when they are available.
