Getting Started
The Hesburgh Libraries is the name of the system of libraries on Notre Dame’s campus (except the Law School’s Kresge Law Library, which is independent in support of the school’s accreditation needs). Hesburgh Library is our flagship library building — it features the famous Word of Life mosaic on the front and overlooks the reflecting pool and football stadium to the south.
The Hesburgh Library offers expertise, services, and resources for all members of the Notre Dame community and is home to several specialty centers and libraries, including the Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship, the Medieval Institute Library, Rare Books and Special Collections, University Archives, and the Visual Resources Center. In addition to the Hesburgh Library, there are three branch library locations: the Architecture Library, the Mahaffey Business Library, and the Music Library.
