Hesburgh Libraries

French Language, Literature, and Culture

The Libraries provide access to resources and services to support research on French language, literature, and culture at Notre Dame. This support is geared primarily toward the program of French and Francophone Studies but extends to anyone researching or learning about the French language and French and Francophone literature, theater, and film.

Relevant print materials are housed within the Hesburgh Library, primarily in the PQ1-3999 and PN6086-6089 call number ranges on the 5th Floor, and the PC2001-3761 call number range on the 8th Floor. We also have French-language material in Rare Books & Special Collections, and we have a collection of French-language graded readers available on the 1st Floor of Hesburgh Library. The Libraries also provide access to online journals, ebooks, and primary sources.

The librarian for French language, literature, and culture, Monica Moore, provides research consultations to students and faculty in one-on-one, small group, or classroom settings.
