Africana Studies

The Libraries provide access to collections and services to support research of the Africana World at Notre Dame. This support is geared primarily toward the Department of Africana Studies but extends to anyone conducting research on the African American experience in the United States, the continent of Africa, and the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora.

Relevant print collections are located on the Lower Level, 9th Floor, 10th Floor, and 12th Floor of the Hesburgh Library. The call number ranges include: BT, DT, E 184-E185, HT 601-HT 1595, L, PL 8000-9000, PR 9205-9339, PR 9340-9410, and PS. The Libraries also provide access to online ebooks, journals, and datasets.

The librarian for Africana Studies, Leslie L. Morgan, provides research consultations to students and faculty in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings. Her areas of expertise include managing and evaluating resources and providing instruction on advanced searching techniques.
