The Visual Resources Center, an active unit within the Digital Initiatives and Scholarship Program is located in room 216 Riley Hall of Art on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. The VRC digital image collection provides works in the arts, architecture, humanities and sciences. Our expertise in visual and database management play an important role in inter-library and campus collaboration, particularly in the College of Arts and Letters.

The VRC offers

  • Reference assistance locating images and effective access to our digital collection and other reputable art databases

  • Course instruction sessions designed to help instructors and students find, create and display images and apply into a project or assignment

  • Digitization of visual materials to support teaching and research needs

  • Assistance and training in using presentation software

The VRC promotes critical visually literacy skills by informing a deeper understanding of fine art and art objects through exploration, research and digital discovery.
