    Includes illustrations and videos. Permission is granted to use these images for educational, news media or research purposes, provided the source for each image is credited.

    U.S. Department of Defense
    Includes multimedia from the Pentagon Channel, Lead Photo Archive, Photo Essays, Week in Photos, Videos.

    U.S. Government Public Domain
    Some of these photos are in the public domain or U.S. Government works and may be used without permission or fee. However, some images may be protected by license or copyright.     Through fair use with public domain, Creative Commons licensed or copyright-friendly images.  Perform a search, click on Advance Search located in the upper right corner of the page; check the box 'Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content.     Photos
    Some of these resources have a mix of public domain and copyrighted photos. Also, some of the owners of the physical photos (which, are in the public domain) have placed use restrictions on copies.  In this case, you must credit and/or cite the photo source!
