Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Can I download ebooks to my Kindle, Nook, iPad, or other tablet or ereader?

Answer:

It depends! Some of our books are available as PDFs, and those should be able to be downloaded to any ereader or tablet for offline use. A few of our ebooks are available as epub files, which can be read on most ereaders and tablets, but not most Kindles (though there may be apps for Kindle Fires that allow for reading epub files). Then, many of our books are available as plain HTML text, which are best viewed through websites, or as books only viewable within a web-based viewer. More information about the different formats on our ebook platforms is available at http://www.library.nd.edu/documents/ebook_access_guide.pdf.
