You can now initiate interlibrary loan requests for books in WorldCat.
When you have found a bibliographic record in WorldCat for the book you want to borrow, click on the FindText link, which will bring up a number of options. Choose Request the Document via Notre Dame Interlibrary Loan. Login with you Net ID and password and scroll down to Submit the Request.
Be sure the Notre Dame Libraries do NOT own this book - Before submitting a direct request, look at the WorldCat record closely. If we own the title, you will see University of Notre Dame next to the link for Libraries Worldwide that own the item.
You cannot order articles through WorldCat; however, if you are using a FindText enabled article index: MLA, PsycINFO, etc., you can follow the procedure described above. Click on FindText, choose Request Document via Notre Dame Interlibrary Loan, put in your NET ID and Password at the ILL logon screen, and Submit Request. Once again, please check to see if we own the item before submitting a request.
If you have any questions, call Interlibrary Loan at 631-6260.
