Love Data Week is dedicated to spreading awareness of the importance of research data management, sharing, preservation, and reuse. Event Schedule

__Workshop: Data Rescue 101, by Justin Schell, University of Michigan __
9:30am – 10:30am, Center for Digital Scholarship Room 129, Hesburgh Library

Data rescue events have proliferated since early 2017. Their goal is to create trustworthy copies of federal data and store it in multiple locations to maintain accessibility for the public. This one-hour workshop provides an overview of data rescue event best practices. Click here to register.

__Lecture: Data Rescue One Year Later: Sustaining a Movement, by Justin Schell, University of Michigan __
11:00am – Noon, Center for Digital Scholarship Room 131, Hesburgh Library

In his talk, Justin Schell will reflect on the past year’s efforts to preserve access to federal information and discuss the many projects that arose as a result. He will discuss next steps of the Data Rescue movement and offer ways to contribute your own time, skills, and expertise to ensure public access to information. Click here for more information.

__Citizen Science Data Event: Lead Exposure in South Bend, by ND Lead Innovation Team __
12:30pm – 5:00pm, Center for Digital Scholarship Room 131, Hesburgh Library

Stop in and explore historical data to find areas of lead exposure in South Bend that may still affect children today. This event is drop-in—you can stay as long as you want. You do not need programming skills to participate, just the ability to use the internet. Lunch is provided with registration. Click here to register.
