Frequently Asked Questions
  • The Renner Audio Resource Center, located on the 2nd floor of Hesburgh Library, is the primary service point for music reference, sound recordings and scores. Staff at the service desk will help users obtain materials and demonstrate how to use equipment.

Instructors may place audio recordings and music scores on physical reserve for their courses at the First floor service desk or request online.

Audio files can be streamed for course reserves. See Library Reserves for more information.

To borrow CDs, first locate the call number in the online catalog. You may then request the item be paged and have it waiting for you to pick up at the 1st floor service desk; or, provide the catalog number to a staff member. Staff can also assist you in locating items in the online catalog.

  • The Audio Collection is predominantly Classical Music but also contains a sizable Jazz and Popular/Rock Collection for listening. The collections are heavily used for classwork although available for leisure listening. The LP and Audio Cassette collection is a combination of all music along with spoken word (Shakespeare, Poetry, Plays, etc.).

At all times, class work takes precedence over leisure listening.
